Join our hands-on community robotics team and experience the excitement of designing, building, programming, and competing with robots! This program is open to students in 6th through 12th grade who are not enrolled in Owatonna Public Schools and want to be part of a collaborative, competitive robotics team. As a community-based robotics team, we compete independently and are not affiliated with the Minnesota State High School League. This provides an opportunity for homeschool students, private school students, and other eligible youth to participate in a competitive robotics program in a supportive team environment. Parent involvement is essential to our success! We are actively seeking parent coaches and volunteers to assist with mentoring students, organizing team activities, coordinating competitions, and supporting the program. No robotics experience is necessary—training and guidance will be provided.Class is open for registration. Discover the fastest game on two feet! Our Lacrosse camp introduces the basics of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting ina fun, non-checking environment. This is a 100% non-contact program—helmets and pads are optional. We provide the sticks andballs; just bring your energy!

Give your child a head start with our 4-day Sports Sampler TYKES camp! This exciting program features two days of Athleticism and two days of Basketball, helping young athletes build confidence while developing fundamental movement and sport-specific skills. Through fun, age-appropriate games and drills, children improve agility, balance, coordination, dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork in a safe, positive environment. Our coaches make every session active, engaging, and enjoyable for all skill levels. What to bring: Water bottle, athletic clothing, and athletic shoes. We provide the basketballs and all necessary equipment. Parent Participation: Required for ages 2–3; recommended for ages 4+ when extra support is needed.

Step up to the plate! T-Ball TYKES is the perfect introduction to baseball, focusing on throwing, fielding, catching, andbatting. We build towards an exciting "Game Day" finale where athletes showcase their skills. Bring your own baseballglove and a water bottle; we provide the bats and balls. Parent Participation: Required for ages 2–3; recommended forages 4–6 when extra support is needed.

It will beautify your property, capture rainwater, reduce stormwater runoff - and the City of Owatonna and Steele County Soil & Water Conservation District can help you pay for it! Attend this complimentary, in-person class and learn about the benefits of rain gardens and how to plan and install your own. We'll kick off the class with a short field trip to see a rain garden in action at a residential property and hear maintenance tips from the homeowner. You'll learn where to put your rain garden, how to choose the right plants, and what cost-share programs exist to help you pay for the project. Please bring your questions and your ideas! Bring your broken items and your curiosity to Steele County’s next Fix-It Clinic! Skilled volunteer Fixers will help you troubleshoot and repair household items—like lamps, toasters, clothing, or small electronics—while you learn how it’s done. Each participant may bring up to two items to work on during the event. Together, we’ll save money, reduce waste, build our skills, and keep useful things out of the landfill!
